Theoretical framework

There are many sustainability dossiers describing necessary sustainability transitions. Although not always recognised, these dossiers are closely connected, also in the area of resources. Steel used for windmills, is is no longer available for building factories or bridges. The enclosed simplified systems-model, as already used by the Club of Rome in the beginning of the seventies, indicates at a high level how the various dossiers influence each other.

Dossiers

As part of the Resource Wende programme, an initial overview is made of the sustainability dossiers that will either be impacted by resource scarcity, play an important role in mitigating the risks or adapting to consequences of this challenge. Below an enumeration of the investigated dossiers, divided in groups based on scope. For each of them a summary is made and reference material is collected (work-in-progress). If you participate in one of the Futures Dialogues, you will automatically get access to this rich collection of information. The dossiers will serve as input for the conferences and will also be enriched based on the outcomes of the dialogues. They contribute to the theoretical framework that connects the various transitions, enables decision-making based on facts and common understanding, and ensures resource scarcity in an integral part of plans and solution.
